The Jets have finally signed a cornerback. This one probably won’t making for missing out on Nnamdi Asomugha.
Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger first reported that Donald Strickland has agreed to terms with the team. The dependable veteran provides depth at a position the Jets figure to invest more resources in. He was with the Jets in 2009, but played for San Diego last year.
The Jets figure to go after Antonio Cromartie with some of the cap space they cleared before Asomugha told New York to drop dead.
