Dolphins, Jets bring plenty of futility into their first meeting of the year

The Dolphins emerge from their bye without a win and, amazingly, without holding the lead at any point in their five losses. They get a chance to change both trends by facing a division rival against whom they’ve had plenty of recent success.

The Dolphins are 2-9 on the road since the start of the 2025 season. One of those wins came at MetLife Stadium against the Jets, where the Dolphins play today. Elsewhere, they’re 1-9.

The Jets, in turn, are 0-7 in the AFC East under coach Aaron Glenn, and 0-1 this season.

A loss by the Dolphins would drop them to 0-6 for the first time since 2019, the notorious tank season that allegedly included owner Stephen Ross offering former head coach Brian Flores $100,000 per loss. (They went 5-5 over the final 10 games that year.)

However this one goes, watch the final two minutes of the first half. Under Glenn, the Jets have been outscored 100-6 in the last 120 seconds before intermission. If that continues, it’s another reason for Glenn to potentially be heading for a permanent intermission.
