Ever since going AWOL on the Jets, Dimitri Patterson has been AWOT.
But there’s at least a sign his “without team” status might change, as he had a workout with the cornerback-needy Lions today, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
The Lions lost cornerback Bill Bentley to a torn ACL, and they’ve been looking at other cornerbacks.
Champ Bailey worked out for them last week as well.
“We haven’t ruled out anything or made any promises to anybody and, obviously, we’re constantly looking to try to improve our situation,” Lions coach Caldwell said.
Patterson can clearly play, but any team bringing him in needs to have a clear understanding of what made him ditch a preseason game when he was with the Jets.
