Dexter Jackson resurfaces in UFL

DexterJacksonAppStateAP

Receiver Dexter Jackson, a participant in the Appalachian State upset-for-the-ages over Michigan in 2007 who became a failed second-round draft pick of the Buccaneers in 2008, has long since seen his NFL career end. He’ll be trying to get back on track toward the highest level of the game by joining the UFL.

Jackson officially has joined the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL, where he’ll be coached by Marty Schottenheimer. The Destroyers also have signed former NFL defensive back Aaron Rouse.

Other Monday business for the only American pro football league that will be playing games in 2011 includes Las Vegas adding defensive back Lewis Baker, receiver Cameron Colvin, and tight end Dezmond Sherrod. Offensive lineman Torrin Tucker and receiver Mario Urrutia have signed with the Sacramento Mountain Lions.
