John Fox returned to his duties as the head coach of the Broncos on Monday and he updated the condition of one of his players after letting everyone know he was feeling “tremendous” a little less than a month after having heart surgery.

Fox announced that defensive end Derek Wolfe has been released from the hospital after experiencing seizure-like symptoms on the team bus to the airport last Friday. There’s no timeline on when Wolfe might be able to rejoin the team as doctors are still doing tests to figure out exactly what happened and how to best treat the condition.

“They’re still running tests,” Fox said, via Mike Klis of the Denver Post. “I think they’re still trying to get a handle on what happened and compare it. I’m not saying it’s nearly the same, but some of the same things we went through with Tracy Porter a year ago. Right now we’re not thinking about his availability or any of that stuff. We’re just concerned about his health, and medical people are working through that as we speak.”

Porter wound up missing 11 weeks last season after experiencing seizure-like symptoms before a road trip. Klis reports that Wolfe isn’t expected to be out as long as Porter, who also had a seizure last August, but that he isn’t expected to play in Week 14.
