Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy is unlikely to play against the Titans this week after drawing a doubtful tag on the week’s final injury report, which means he’s unlikely to pick up his second fine in as many weeks.
PFT has confirmed that Levy has been fined $9,115 by the league after being penalized for taunting in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s 39-35 victory over the Colts.
Levy was penalized after a third-and-one that saw Colts quarterback Andrew Luck throw incomplete. Levy took Luck down at the end of the play, leading to jawing with members of the Colts and a flag that Levy lamented after the game.
“It was just a dumb play,” Levy said, via the Detroit Free Press. “It was a dumb play. Heat of the moment. Guys are running to the sideline grabbing and talking noise. It’s whatever. It’s a dumb play. I got to be smarter.”
Assuming Levy misses this Sunday’s game, he’ll have his next chance to be smarter in Green Bay in Week Three.
