Earlier this week, veteran defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot reportedly set up a visit with the Ravens for early next week.
But as it turns out, he won’t be going.
Instead, Smoot has re-signed with the Jaguars, according to agent David Canter.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport notes it’s a one-year deal worth a maximum of $6.25 million with $3.25 million guaranteed.
A third-round pick in the 2017 draft, Smoot has spent his entire career with the Jaguars. He recorded 5.0 sacks, six tackles for loss, and 12 QB hits in 15 games last year. But he suffered a torn Achilles that prematurely ended his season.
In 87 total games with 17 starts, Smoot has recorded 22.5 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, and 60 QB hits.
