Adams caught an 11-yard touchdown to cap a 14-play, 99-yard drive to give the Jets a 6-0 lead over the Rams.
Anders Carlson missed the extra point wide left to keep the lead at six points.
The Rams downed a punt at the 1-yard line, but it was no matter for the Jets on their first drive. Rodgers was 7-of-8 for 79 yards on the possession, with three completions going to Adams for 28 yards.
New York was 1-of-2 on third down, but the team went for it on fourth-and-2 and got it with an 8-yard pass from Rodgers to Adams.
