As he prepares to become one of the biggest names on the free-agent market, cornerback Antonio Cromartie has new representation. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Cromartie has inked with Tom Condon and Ben Dogra of CAA.

Cromartie previously has been represented by the late Gary Wichard, who died last month due to complications of pancreatic cancer and diabetes.

CAA also represents Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, another big-name free agent. In past years, we’d spend a few paragraphs pointing out the possible existence of a conflict of interest when the time comes to place two guys who play the same position with new teams, especially if one team is interested in both of them and the job falls to the agents to make the case for signing their guy. But most of you don’t care and, well, I’m just tired today.
