The Cowboys placed safety Jalen Thompson and defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.
Both players must miss at least four games.
Thompson’s hamstring injury could keep him out even longer than that. Bullard, who missed much of training camp with a groin/abdominal injury, has a calf injury that will sideline him.
Thompson’s injury is the latest hit the Cowboys have taken at the position. Malik Hooker (fractured forearm) has missed the past two games, and P.J. Locke (foot) is on injured reserve.
Cornerbacks Shavon Revel (knee/ankle) and Cobie Durant (hamstring) are also injured.
The Cowboys announced that they have signed defensive tackle Elijah Garcia to the active roster from the practice squad. They also signed defensive backs Alex Austin, Tyrek Funderburk and Juanyeh Thomas to the practice squad.
