The Bills placed the franchise tag on left tackle Cordy Glenn on Tuesday and Glenn signed it before the week was out.
Glenn’s agents shared a picture of their client signing the tag. The signature guarantees Glenn $13.7 million should he play out the season under the terms of the tag.
There will be talks designed to getting another contract signing picture at some point before the July 15 deadline for players with franchise tags to sign long-term deals. Getting a deal done would do more than just make for a nice picture, especially as it would likely lower Glenn’s cap number this season and the Bills could use help on that front even after releasing defensive end Mario Williams and cornerback Leodis McKelvin this week.
Glenn is the third player to sign his franchise tag since Tuesday, joining Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins and Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. Six other players have yet to sign their franchise tags and Dolphins defensive end Olivier Vernon hasn’t signed his transition tag with the chance to start talking to other teams just a few days away.
