Commanders open practice window for Jonathan Allen

A report over the weekend indicated Commanders defensive lineman Jonathan Allen was working to return from what was called a season-ending pectoral injury and that process is picking up steam.

The Commanders announced on Wednesday that they have opened the 21-day practice window for Allen to return from injured reserve. Allen will need to be activated by the end of that window in order to return to action in the regular season or playoffs.

Allen last appeared in a game in Week Six and he had 15 tackles, two sacks, and six quarterback hits before being injured.

It is likely a stretch for Allen to return against the Eagles this weekend, but there will be more word from the Commanders in the coming days about their plans for him in the final weeks.
