The Colts have signed rookie wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers from the practice squad to the active roster, the club said Monday night.

The move gives the Colts six receivers on the active roster.

Rogers (6-3, 206) has been with the Colts since early September, spending the majority of his time on the practice squad. They signed him to the active roster on Sept. 19, waived him Sept. 24, then re-signed him to the practice squad the next day.

Rogers played collegiately at Tennessee (2010-2011) and Tennessee Tech (2012). He spent most of the 2013 preseason with the Bills, who signed him as an undrafted free agent.

The Colts cleared a roster spot for Rogers by waiving safety Larry Asante with an injured designation. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, he will revert to injured reserve. A second-year pro from Nebraska, Asante appeared in five regular-season games for Indianapolis in 2013.

To replace Rogers on the practice squad, the Colts signed rookie wide receiver Josh Lenz. An Iowa State product, Lenz was most recently on the Seahawks’ practice squad before being released last week.
