Cornerback Ambry Thomas will not be joining the Colts.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Indianapolis failed Thomas on his physical on Thursday. The club claimed his previous forearm injury is not completely healed.
But San Francisco cleared Thomas over a month ago before waiving him off of injured reserve this week.
“Ambry feels good and is ready to play,” Thomas’ agent Drew Rosenhaus said, via Schefter. “My prediction is he will pass his next physical.”
Thomas suffered a broken forearm during this year’s preseason.
A third-round pick in 2021, Thomas has appeared in 42 games with 11 starts. He’s recorded 12 passes defensed with two interceptions.
