The Colts now have another quarterback, and unlike Matt Hasselbeck, he has great hair.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Colts have claimed Charlie Whitehurst, who was cut by the Titans yesterday.

Whitehurst started five of his nine career games last year for the Titans, after distinguished stints with the Chargers and Seahawks. The 33-year-old Whitehurst has thrown 340 career passes, completing 189 of them, for 2,131 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.

While it’s amazing that Whitehurst keeps getting jobs, think for a moment what this means for the career prospects of Ryan Mallett. A team with a desperate need for someone, anyone, to stand behind Hasselbeck for a few weeks while Andrew Luck recovers from a lacerated kidney was bypassed in favor of a vain attempt to land Jason Campbell, and the man known as Clipboard Jesus.
