Brady Quinn is going to Kansas City.

The Chiefs announced the signing of Quinn, a free agent quarterback who spent the last two seasons with the Broncos. In Kansas City he’ll back up Matt Cassel.

Quinn entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick of the Browns in 2007, when Romeo Crennel was Cleveland’s head coach. This move reunites Quinn and Crennel, who’s now the head coach of the Chiefs.

Although some analysts thought Quinn was poised for NFL stardom when he was at Notre Dame, things have not panned out for him professionally. In three years in Cleveland he started just 12 games and never distinguished himself, and in two years in Denver he never even got on the field for a regular-season game.

The 27-year-old Quinn has a career stat line of 184-for-353 for 1,902 yards, with 10 touchdowns, nine interceptions and a passer rating of 66.8.
