Former Bills and Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams didn’t play in the NFL during the 2015 season, but was on the workout circuit in recent weeks as he tried to land an opportunity to extend his playing career.

He’s going to get that opportunity in Kansas City. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Williams will sign a one-year deal with the Chiefs on Monday.

Williams last played with Buffalo during the 2014 season when he caught eight passes in nine games. That followed a six-game campaign with the Bucs in 2013 as injuries and off-field issues slowed down the production that led to 193 catches in his first three years with Tampa Bay.

The Chiefs also signed former Raiders wideout Rod Streater as a free agent this offseason and both players will vie for roles behind Jeremy Maclin on the team’s depth chart.
