Chargers sign Mario Henderson

The San Diego Chargers have picked up some depth on their offensive line with the signing of free-agent tackle Mario Henderson.

The team announced on Friday that Henderson has signed a one-year deal.

The 6-foot-7, 300-pound Henderson is a talented athlete who was a third-round pick of the Raiders out of Florida State in 2007. He became a full-time starter in 2009, but in 2010 he lost his spot in the starting lineup. In March of 2011 he was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm without a permit, and he reportedly got out of shape during the lockout, and he didn’t play in the NFL at all last season.

If Henderson is in shape and motivated, he could be a solid addition to San Diego’s offensive line. If not, he probably won’t make the roster.

The Chargers also announced that guard Brandyn Dombrowski and long snapper Mike Windt, both of whom were restricted free agents, signed one-year contracts.
