With new, legal tampering replacing the old-fashioned, fun kind, here’s what we’ve been reduced to.

The Chargers have signed long snapper Mike Windt to a four-year contract extension, according to Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego.

Windt has been with the Chargers four seasons, though this one was cut short when he suffered a broken hand in November.

Suffice it to say, Windt wasn’t among PFT’s Free Agent Hot 100, which is perhaps more of an indictment of the implicit media bias against long snappers than his particular skills.

But with the rules being what they are, that list probably isn’t going to be updated often until Tuesday.
