Chargers Pro Bowl guard Kris Dielman testified on Tuesday in a strange case involving former San Diego Padre Brian Giles, and Giles’ ex-girlfriend.

Dielman, a friend of Giles, testified that he accidentally gave Cheri Olvera, then Giles’ girlfriend, a bloody nose while they were “goofing around” in a limo. Dielman says that when he signed a six-year, $39 million contract several months later, Olvera came to him and asked for money to compensate her for the bloody nose. Giles’ side in the lawsuit is using that incident to demonstrate that Olvera seeks out wealthy men for money.

The lawsuit features Olvera seeking more than $10 million in damages from Giles, whom she dated from 2003 to 2008 and accuses of multiple instances of domestic violence. Giles’ side is trying to portray Olvera as the one who was abusive.

Dielman testified that Olvera was “always getting loud with [Giles], or bad-mouthing him or his family or his friends that were in the area, or just being rude in general to everybody.”

The charming story of the ex-Padre and his ex-girlfriend also has another connection to the Chargers. Gina Seau, ex-wife of Junior Seau, also testified Tuesday, saying she witnessed Olvera being “extremely angry and cussing” toward Giles.
