CeeDee Lamb on playing through shoulder injury: I’m putting my body on the the line for my guys

Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has played the second half of the season with a shoulder injury. He is in obvious pain.

The question is: Why is he still playing?

Despite the Cowboys being eliminated from the postseason, Lamb is not only showing up but showing out.

“I love this game that much,” Lamb said. “I’m literally willing to put my body out there on the line for my guys.”

Lamb injured his shoulder in a Week 9 game against the Falcons. He has played through the pain since, even after aggravating it in the Thanksgiving Day game against the Giants and Sunday night’s game against the Bucs.

“My shoulder is out of whack,” Lamb said. “I’m not going to even lie to you. I’m just out there battling and doing what I do. It’s not fun.”

Lamb had seven catches for 105 yards in the 26-24 victory over the Bucs on Sunday night, but six of the catches and 100 of the yards came in the first half. He didn’t play much in the second half after hitting his shoulder on the ground at the end of a 52-yard catch at the two-minute warning of the first half.

“I’m so proud of CeeDee just fighting to get back in there. It just tells you about him,” Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said.

Lamb is tied for second in receptions with 101 and third in yards with 1,194.
