Cardinals take Dan Williams 26th overall

Taking a player few draft observers thought would still be available, the Arizona Cardinals selected Tennessee defensive tackle Dan Williams with the 26th pick in the 2010 NFL draft.

Williams was widely regarded as a player who would go in the first half of the first round, and it was surprising that he sat in the green room at Radio City Music Hall while 25 other players’ names were announced before his. The Cardinals finally took him 26th, and they got a very good addition to their defensive line.

The 6-foot-2, 327-pound Williams was a three-year starter at Tennessee and had a very good senior season in Monte Kiffin’s defense. His arrival makes the Cardinals’ defensive line deeper and better.
