Cam Newton in rare training camp fight involving quarterback

Training camp fights are generally overblown, and seldom worth noting.

But when the quarterback ends up at the bottom of the pile, it’s different.

Via Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and cornerback Josh Norman had to be separated, after the two fought and ended up on the ground.

Norman, one of the most talkative Panthers, picked off Newton during a team drill, and during the ensuing chase, they ended up on the ground. As the players were being broken up, video showed Newton yelling to Norman: “Hit me like that again and you’ll know something.”

Newton was then heard insisting “I’m good, I’m good,” as teammates dragged him back away from the incident.

Norman’s a competitive kid, and angling for a new contract. But if he hurts the $100 million franchise quarterback doing something silly in practice, he might have to get it someplace else.
