Bears kicker Cairo Santos booted his team to victory on Monday night and he received some attention from the league on Thursday.
Santos has been named the NFC special teams player of the month for November. Santos previously received the honor in November 2016 while with the Chiefs and in December 2020 with the Bears.
The Bears called on Santos to try 14 field goals this month and he made 12 of those kicks. His four field goals accounted for all their scoring in Monday’s 12-10 win over the Vikings and he also made all four field goals he tried in a Week 11 loss to the Lions.
Santos made all five extra points he attempted during the month as well. He’s 21-of-22 on extra points and 23-of-25 on field goals for the entire season.
