C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s pick-six gives Eagles early lead over Cowboys

Eagles defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson missed most of the second half last week after his ejection for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. The Commanders rallied for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to win.

He already has made his presence known today.

With the Cowboys driving, but facing a third-and-3 at the Philadelphia 35, Gardner-Johnson stepped in front of Brandin Cooks and returned the interception 69 yards for a touchdown.

Cowboys offensive lineman Chuma Edoga was the only one that had a shot at Gardner-Johnson, and Edoga couldn’t bring him down.

Rush is 2-of-4 for 23 yards and a pick.
