Buccaneers right tackle Demar Dotson has some new job security.

The Bucs announced this morning that they have extended Dotson’s contract. It’s reportedly a three-year deal worth in the range of $5 million to $6 million a year.

Dotson was hoping for a new contract a year ago, but he suffered a torn MCL in the preseason and ended up playing in just six games, with three starts. But the Bucs apparently like what they’re seeing from Dotson now enough that they’re confident he’s their starting right tackle this year and likely for a couple more years.

The 30-year-old Dotson signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He started all 16 games in both 2013 and 2014.
