The Browns may give Bailey Zappe an opportunity to play in Saturday’s season finale against the Ravens.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters in his Tuesday video conference that he’s still working through who’s going to start at quarterback, but there’s a scenario where both Zappe and Dorian Thompson-Robinson could see some time.
“There’s certainly a chance that I could play Bailey and Dorian in this game,” Stefanski said. “Jameis [Winston] is still working through that shoulder injury. So, I envision him being the emergency quarterback in this game. And then there’s potential to play both guys.”
As to who would start between Zappe and Thompson-Robinson, Stefanski said he’s going to work through that this week.
Zappe joined the Browns in October, signed off the Chiefs’ practice squad. A Patriots fourth-round pick in 2022, Zappe has appeared in 14 career games with eight starts. He’s completed 63.2 percent of his passes for 2,053 yards with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Thompson-Robinson has struggled in his six appearances this season with two starts. He’s completed 51.3 percent of his throws for 427 yards with no touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s rushed for 119 yards.
