Josh Gordon has shown the Browns plenty of potential, a year of production, but probably more headaches.
But the team isn’t washing its hands of the troubled wide receiver during his one-year suspension for his latest violation of the substance abuse policy.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, the Browns continue to correspond with him during his suspension, which he’s spending in the Cleveland area.
Teams are allowed to contact players suspended that long only via their player engagement representative, and that’s apparently what the Browns are doing, as the league office said they were following the rules.
He can’t be reinstated until February at the soonest, and can’t be around the team until then. But a number of players have said they’re keeping tabs on him as well, to support him and provide some degree of structure.
