New Orleans isn’t the only NFL region that has experienced adversity during the offseason. In Colorado, the July theater shooting during The Dark Knight Rises and a rash of wildfires have marred the past several months.
The Broncos will honor the persons who have been affected by those events with a helmet sticker. It’s a ribbon featuring the flag of Colorado, and the Broncos will wear it all season long. The decal will debut tonight, when the Broncos host the Steelers.
“We had a lot of stuff happen around Denver in the last year and we just want to bring some happiness and joy — and hopefully some wins — back to Colorado this season,” linebacker Von Miller wrote recently, via the team’s official website.
It’s a small gesture, but it surely will mean plenty to those who have endured these difficult times in Colorado.
