The Giants first turned to Tommy DeVito at quarterback when Tyrod Taylor injured his ribs against the Jets in Week Eight and they may face a question about which one of them to start when they return to action in Week 14.
Taylor has spent four weeks on injured reserve, so he is now eligible to return to active duty. At a Monday press conference, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said “we’ll see” when asked about Taylor being activated and said that the team has not yet discussed who would start if both quarterbacks are available.
“We’re just getting started on that process now. We’ll have plenty of meetings tonight, tomorrow,” Daboll said, via SNY.
DeVito’s first few outings were rough, but he has played much better in back-to-back wins. Taylor has much more experience, which means the Giants know what they have in him and that may mean the team is better served by seeing what DeVito can do over the first five weeks.
