Brian Daboll on calls for him to be fired: Just control what we can control

The 2024 season has been a disaster for the Giants, but it’s been a windfall for the niche industry of banner-towing planes in the New Jersey area.

For the second straight home game, a plane buzzed MetLife Stadium carrying a message for Giants co-owner John Mara. The first one asked him to “fix this dumpster fire” and Sunday’s banner read “fire everyone.”

After the Ravens crushed the Giants 35-14, one of the people that the banner’s benefactor wants to see fired was asked about the message. Head coach Brian Daboll claimed he was unaware of the plane until his press conference and said that the mounting desire for him to lose his job wouldn’t factor into his week.

“Yeah, just control what we can control,” Daboll said, via a transcript from the team. “Get ready to play a game this week.”

The 2-12 Giants will take their nine-game losing streak to Atlanta for a Week 16 date with the Falcons.
