Texans linebacker Brian Cushing said via Twitter that he underwent surgery Wednesday to get his “patella cleaned up” and “knee scoped.”
“Was about two years over due, time for rehab!” Cushing wrote.
When Cushing gets healthy and a collective bargaining agreement is worked out, he’ll be coached up by a new position coach. The Texans have hired former Cowboys assistant Reggie Herring, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Cushing’s place in Houston’s new 3-4 defense is up for debate after a somewhat disappointing 2010 season. He could wind up playing on the outside and inside.
