Brett Favre says he is absolutely, positively not returning to the NFL, despite some interest.
Responding to this morning’s report that the Rams had reached out, Favre said on Sports Talk 570 that his agent, Bus Cook, told him that a couple of teams have called this season to see if Favre would like to play. But Favre said Cook doesn’t even bother to pass along the details of the offers because Favre has made it crystal clear that he is not going to play again.
“I don’t know who, but I think a couple teams have inquired,” Favre said. “It’s flattering, but there’s no way I’m gonna do that.”
Favre said his final season, 2010 in Minnesota, showed him that it was time for him to walk away.
“I had a great career,” Favre said. “I think if anything, the last year I played was an obvious writing on the wall vision if you will, that it was time.”
Now a high school coach, Favre said he enjoys working with young people, traveling with his family and playing with his 3-year-old grandson. The 44-year-old Favre really does sound like he’s done playing football.
