The Saints are expected to make several additions to their coaching staff in the near future, including the arrival of Dan Campbell as assistant head coach and tight ends coach.
Campbell would take over the tight end duties from Dan Roushar, who is expected to remain on the staff in a different position. He may be moving to coach the offensive line.
Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that Bret Ingalls will not be back in that position for the 2016 season. Ingalls spent the last three seasons coaching the offensive line in New Orleans and worked with the team’s running backs for the four previous seasons.
The performance of the line has been a mixed bag over the last three years. They’ve seen Drew Brees take the highest sack totals of his Saints career, but Mark Ingram posted the two best rushing yard totals of his career in 2014 and 2015.
In addition to Ingalls, secondary coach Wesley McGriff, quarterbacks coach Mike Neu and offensive assistant Kyle Devan are also leaving the team. Joe Lombardi is expected to be the new quarterbacks coach and Aaron Glenn is set to be a secondary coach in 2016.
