On Wednesday morning, Tom Brady was planning to play in the Pro Bowl.

On Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET, Brady got out of foot surgery, according to Tom Curran of Comcast Sports New England.

Brady’s exit physical for the year revealed that the stress fracture in his foot had not healed. A screw was inserted into his foot Thursday, essentially in a preventive move to avoid a complete break in the future.

Brady is expected to be fully healthy in time for training camp. (If there is a training camp.) Brady hopes to be healthy in time to participate in some minicamps or passing camps in the summer. (If there are minicamps or passing camps.)

NFL Network estimates Brady will have at least a three-month recovery time.
