Brady Quinn working on “one last comeback”

Since he was in the broadcast booth for FOX Sports last season, Brady Quinn was referred to as a former NFL quarterback when he shared his opinion last week that Jameis Winston shouldn’t do throwing drills at the NFL scouting combine.

That likely had little to do with Winston’s decision to go ahead and take part in the throwing drills on Saturday, but it seems Quinn would like to drop the “former” from any description of his place in the world.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports that Quinn is making “one last comeback attempt” this offseason. He is working out in Florida with quarterback coach Jeff Christensen, who counts Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo among his past pupils.

Quinn spent a couple of weeks with the Dolphins last summer and had stints with the Rams, Jets and Seahawks in 2013 without seeing any regular season action. The last time he got any of that was with the Chiefs in 2012, when Quinn made eight starts and saw meaningful playing time for the first time since 2009.

UPDATE 2 p.m. ET: Quinn tells us on Twitter that he’s not working with Christensen.
