When Bills cornerback Ron Brooks was stretchered off the field in Detroit on Sunday, many observers feared the worst: Brooks had been upended and landed directly on the top of his head, and it appeared that he might have suffered a severe neck injury.
But there’s good news: Although Brooks did need to spend a night in a Detroit hospital, he is now home and walking without assistance. Brooks wrote on Twitter that he’s going to be OK.
“I’m thankful and grateful to be walking under my own power. This could’ve been WAYYY worse,” Brooks wrote.
The Bills confirmed that a team athletic trainer stayed in Detroit with Brooks on Sunday and that the two of them traveled back to Buffalo on Monday. There’s been no word about when Brooks might be able to play again, but the important news is that this injury isn’t as severe as it looked. As Brooks said, it could have been way worse.
