The Bills offense hasn’t lit the world on fire through 30 minutes of action against the Jets, but their defense has assured that they’ve done enough to go into halftime with a two-score lead.
Edge rusher A.J. Epenesa sacked Aaron Rodgers for a safety and his partner Gregory Rousseau batted a Rodgers pass into defensive tackle Jordan Phillips’s hands to end another Jets drive. The Bills also stuffed running back Braelon Allen short of the line to gain on a fourth down and the Bills are up 12-0 as a result of those efforts.
Josh Allen ran for the Bills’ only touchdown and he is 12-of-19 for 116 yards through the air. James Cook has run 10 times for 44 yards and the Bills have a big edge in time of possession through the first two quarters of action.
The Jets will get the ball to start the second half, but continued success controlling the ball should have the Bills in strong position to clinch the No. 2 seed in the AFC by the end of the business day.
