Bills give Danario Alexander a workout

Adam Caplan reports that the Buffalo Bills tried out free agent wide receiver Danario Alexander on Monday.

Per Caplan, Alexander is fully recovered from the hamstring injury that plagued him throughout Rams OTAs and training camp.

The Rams waived Alexander with an injury settlement on August 29.

Though blessed with freakish tools, injuries have been an insurmountable obstacle in Alexander’s three-year NFL career. A balky left knee torpedoed his stock before the 2010 NFL draft, and he couldn’t stay on the field in parts of two seasons with St. Louis.

Still only 24 and apparently healthy now, Alexander could be a worthwhile flier signing for a team with enough 53-man roster space to carry him for a bit, while Alexander learns the offense. He does not have practice squad eligibility, however.

Alexander has 46 career receptions for 737 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 16.0 yards a catch.
