Browns coach Hue Jackson said that he wants wide receiver Terrelle Pryor to show more composure than he showed while jawing with Bengals cornerback Adam Jones and members of the Browns during last Sunday’s loss to Cincinnati.
The Bengals had a similar message for Jones on Monday. Jones went on a long rant about Pryor being “garbage” after the game was over and used a garbage can as a prop to further make his point to the press corps.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said that’s “not the thing we want to get in to” and defensive coordinator Paul Guenther said it was time for Jones to channel Roger Murtaugh.
“We don’t want to deal with that B.S. We’re not like that,” Guenther said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer. “We just play football. If two guys want to, typically you’ll have some guys that are competitive guys that know one another that, in a good, competitive spirit, two guys going at it, that’s one thing. But to take it to the extent that Adam did, we need to move on. Adam’s too old for that stuff right now. I told him that after the game.”
Jones didn’t speak to reporters on Monday, so we’ll have to wait to find out if there will be any further Pryor discussion or if it is time to move on to other matters in Cincinnati.
