Bengals get fourth-rounder Atkins under contract

According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, the Bengals have agreed to a four-year rookie contract with fourth-round pick Geno Atkins. Atkins reportedly received a $472,000 signing bonus, bringing the net worth of the deal to $2.262 million.

A defensive tackle out of Georgia, Atkins didn’t make our top-15 prospects at the position because he lost his starting job late in his college career. He was an underachiever for the Bulldogs after flashing dominant ability as a sophomore. Atkins’ motor runs hot and cold, so he should benefit from playing in a rotation with the Bengals.

A one-gap penetrator, Atkins will battle Jonathan Fanene and Pat Sims for snaps behind projected Cincinnati starters Domata Peko and Tank Johnson.
