Running back Ben Tate came to Cleveland looking for a chance to be a lead back, after years of backing up Arian Foster.

That lasted less than a week.

Tate, who left the opener in the first half with a knee sprain, will miss two to four weeks, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. He will not need surgery, which is always a good sign.

That will force the load onto rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell, but they appeared ready to handle it last week. West had 100 yards and Crowell scored twice in the Browns’ comeback attempt.
