When safety Antrel Rolle was released by the Bears in early May, he said that he wanted a chance to play against them this season and “bust their a--,” but he never landed a job with another team in the offseason.

With the regular season half over, Rolle, who ended last season on injured reserve, remains unemployed and he’s read the writing on the wall.
I’m done, yeah, I’m done,” Rolle said on NFL Network. “I’m at peace. I’m at total peace. You know, like I said, going out, you’re 33 years old going on injured reserve last year, that’s going to scare a lot of teams away. I understand how the business works and I’m fine with that either way.”

Rolle entered the league as a first-round pick by the Cardinals in 2005 and made the first of three Pro Bowl trips with the team in 2009. He moved to the Giants after that season and went to two more Pro Bowls while winning a Super Bowl over five seasons as a leader of their defense.
