The Seahawks are headed back to the Super Bowl, which means that cornerback Richard Sherman won’t be playing in the Pro Bowl.
The NFL didn’t look far for a replacement to play in a game that will be played at the Cardinals’ stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Cardinals cornerback Antonio Cromartie has been tabbed to replace Sherman in the game, where he’ll join his fellow Arizona cornerback Patrick Peterson.
Cromartie, who is now a four-time Pro Bowl selection, outplayed Peterson for large portions of the season and heads into this offseason in better shape than he did last year. Cromartie was a cap casualty with the Jets last year after a poor and injury-plagued 2013 season and landed a one-year deal with the Cardinals. He’ll probably be able to command more than that this time around.
Texans tackle Duane Brown has also been added to the roster. He replaces Eagles tackle Jason Peters and will learn what team he’s playing for when he and the rest of the Pro Bowlers are drafted by Cris Carter and Michael Irvin on Wednesday night.
