Adrian Peterson had earned the NFL rushing title without playing a down tonight.

Now, he has something extra to go with it.

Peterson scored the game’s first touchdown in the third quarter, giving the Vikings a 13-3 lead over the Packers.

He’s had to work for every yard tonight, but as long as he didn’t lose yards he wasn’t going to lose the league lead in rushing yards, as he entered the game with a 16-yard cushion over Tampa Bay’s Doug Martin.

If this lead holds up, the Vikings would win the NFC North title and face the Seahawks at home next week, sending the Packers to Washington.
