A day after he suffered a shoulder injury, the 49ers placed tight end Vance McDonald on their season-ending injured-reserve list Monday.
McDonald had 24 receptions for 391 yards and four touchdowns in 11 starts. He set new career bests in yards and touchdowns.

The 49ers claimed offensive lineman Josh Allen via waivers from the Buccaneers, and Allen takes the roster spot vacated when McDonald was placed on IR.
