Cornerback Kristian Fulton couldn’t beat the Chiefs as a member of the Chargers in 2024 and he’ll be joining them in 2025.

According to multiple reports on Tuesday, the Chiefs have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with Fulton. The deal calls for Fulton to make $20 million with $15 million in guaranteed money.

Fulton signed a one-year deal with the Chargers last year after spending four seasons with the Titans. He started 15 games over the regular season and playoffs and finished the year with 51 tackles, an interception, and seven passes defensed.

The Chiefs have also made agreements with running back Elijah Mitchell and tackle Jaylon Moore since the free agency negotiating period began on Monday.

Edge rusher Khalil Mack was set to become a free agent this week, but he never made it to the open market.

The Chargers and Mack agreed to a one-year deal that will keep the veteran edge rusher in Los Angeles for a fourth season. It will be Mack’s 12th NFL season overall and he said on Monday that he believes he has “a lot left to give the game.”

Mack would like to give what he has left to a contender and said he believes “you know you always have a chance to win” with a Chargers team with quarterback Justin Herbert, safety Derwin James, and head coach Jim Harbaugh. They didn’t take advantage of that chance in 2024 and Mack made it clear that’s his goal for 2025.

“Unfinished business,” Mack said, via the team’s website. “The relationships here that’s been built, unfinished business, knowing the potential for the group. I’m just ready to get back to work and not all the other extras and hoopla that come with going to a different place at this moment this time. I’ve got something I’m going to finish here.”

Mack won’t have Joey Bosa back with him on the edges of the defense as he pushes to finish the job, but his decision to re-sign suggests he still thinks that is within reach for the Chargers.

The Chargers have a new running back.

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh’s first-round pick in 2021, has agreed to terms with the Chargers. Per multiple reports, it’s a one-year deal worth up to $9.25 million. The base value was not disclosed.

Harris would have made $6.7 million in 2025, if the Steelers had exercised his fifth-year option. They did not, setting the stage for Harris to hit free agency.

He has never missed a game in four years, and he has four straight 1,000-yard seasons.

The Chargers’ top running back in 2024 was J.K. Dobbins. He became a free agent on Monday.

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh values the running game. And so it’s no surprise that the Chargers are interested in adding the top free-agent running back.

Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Chargers are pursuing Steelers running back Najee Harris, hopeful to close a deal.

A first-round pick in 2021, Harris has never missed a game. He’s had four straight, 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

That said, his career rushing average is 3.9 yards per carry. And he lacks the burst that was often displayed over the past three years by the other top running back in Pittsburgh, Jaylen Warren. Also, the Steelers opted not to exercise the fifth-year option on Harris’s rookie contract.

Still, durability means something. Especially for the Chargers, who have had way too many injured players in recent years. Harris is a tough, hard runner who just keeps going. He brings a toughness that can spread throughout a locker room. That’s got to be an attraction to Harbaugh and the Chargers.

And don’t overlook the connection between the Harbaugh brothers. Jim surely knows Ravens coach John’s opinions about Harris, after facing him numerous times over the past four years.

Last March, the Chargers added J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Edwards is out, and Dobbins is a free agent.

Defensive tackle Teair Tart will be staying put.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Tart has agreed to a new deal with the Chargers. Tart will return on a one-year contract worth $5.5 million.

Tart signed with the Chargers last August after spending the offseason with the Dolphins. He appeared in every game and had 29 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Tart split the 2023 season between the Titans and Texans and spent his first three NFL seasons in Tennessee.

The Chargers have also agreed to re-sign edge rusher Khalil Mack and punter J.K. Scott. They are also set to sign former Steelers cornerback Donte Jackson, but wide receiver Josh Palmer and defensive tackle Poona Ford have agreed to deals with other teams.

Donte Jackson is headed west.

The veteran cornerback has agreed to a two-year deal with the Chargers, according to multiple reports.

The initial reports indicate Jackson’s deal is worth $13 million.

Jackson, 29, spent his first six seasons with the Panthers before he was traded to the Steelers last offseason. He started 15 games for Pittsburgh in 2024, recording eight passes defensed with a career-high five interceptions.

In 95 career games, Jackson has recorded 54 passes defensed with 19 interceptions.

Jackson was No. 93 on PFT’s list of the top 100 free agents for this offseason.

Josh Allen is getting a new weapon in Buffalo.

The Bills have agreed to terms with former Chargers wide receiver Josh Palmer on a three-year contract, according to multiple reports.

Palmer was a 2021 third-round pick of the Chargers and has played his entire four-year career with the Chargers. Now he’ll move across the country and go from Justin Herbert to Josh Allen.

Last year Palmer played in 15 games for the Chargers and caught 39 passes for 584 yards and one touchdown.

Defensive tackle Poona Ford will be switching locker rooms at SoFi Stadium for the 2025 season.

Multiple reports on Monday say that Ford has agreed to terms with the Rams. The former Charger is set to sign a three-year contract worth just under $30 million with $17 million in guaranteed money.

Ford joined the Chargers last season and started every game for the AFC West club. He had 39 tackles, three sacks, and an interception in the regular season and three tackles in their playoff loss to the Texans.

Ford played eight games for the Bills in 2023 and he spent his first five NFL seasons with the Seahawks.

The Chargers are holding onto another one of their players.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that they have re-signed punter J.K. Scott. It is a two-year deal worth $6 million for Scott.

The Chargers also re-signed edge rusher Khalil Mack on Monday, so they have prioritized holding onto their own players to kick off the free agency period.

Scott spent time with the Packers and Jaguars before joining the Chargers in 2022. He has averaged 45.6 yards per kick during his time with the NFC East club and has an average of 45.1 yards per kick for his entire career.

Khalil Mack won’t be going anywhere this offseason.

According to multiple reports, Mack is re-signing with the Chargers on a one-year deal.

The initial reports indicate Mack’s contract is worth $18 million fully guaranteed.

Mack, 34, was traded to the Chargers in the in March 2022. He’s appeared in 50 games for Los Angeles over the last three seasons, earning a Pro Bowl berth each year. He tallied 6.0 sacks with six tackles for loss, 15 quarterback hits, and nine passes defensed in 2024.

He was No. 12 on PFT’s list of the top 100 free agents this offseason.

The No. 5 overall pick of the 2014 draft, Mack has recorded 107.5 career sacks for the Raiders, Bears, and Chargers in his 11 seasons.
