Tinoisamoa

One of the keys to the Rams defense, Tinosamoa will soldier through a dislocated shoulder injury with a harness on.

The Rams have considered moving Tinoisamoa to the strong side. Brandon Chillar, thought to be the starter at the WILL position, is on the shelf for minicamps with a shoulder injury.

X-rays came back negative. He finished week one’s game wearing a shoulder harness.

Tinoisamoa played most of the game after dislocating his right shoulder. Head Coach Mike Martz said he could miss a few weeks.

He set a career high with his 77th tackle before leaving the game.

The Chicago Tribune confirms that Tinoisamoa’s right knee operation was of the major reconstructive variety after initial reports suggested it was just a routine procedure to repair “wear and tear.” Tinoisamoa was given a recovery timetable of October, so the Bears will check on his progress in returning from a third right knee surgery.

He was in and out of yesterday’s game, but was able to finish it.

Lance Briggs is apparently pushing for Tinoisamoa to win the job, which seems odd considering Roach earned the position with his performance last season. Several teammates report that Roach has been a “beast” during workouts. He’s not going to give up his starting spot.

He’s rangy enough to pull it off, but will be one of the biggest safeties in the league. Since he’ll be used mostly for run support and is terrific at pursuit, Tinoisamoa should be an IDP factor next year.
