Grant Calcaterra caught 3-of-3 targets for 58 yards in the Eagles’ Week 8 win over the Bengals.

Calcaterra continued to fill in for the injured Dallas Goedert (hamstring) and caught a few deep targets on the day. He was the No. 3 pass-catching option, with a 28-yard catch his longest of the game. Jack Stoll also saw increased snaps with Goedert out, catching his only target for six targets, though he was primarily in for blocking. If Goedert continues to miss time, Calcaterra has low-end TE2 fantasy viability.

A.J. Brown caught 5-of-6 targets for 84 yards and in the Eagles’ Week 8 win over the Bengals.

Brown and Devonta Smith were the primary receivers targeted by Jalen Hurts on the day. Brown began with a 29-yard catch on the opening drive and saw the second-most targets on the team, one less than Smith. The only targeted he did not catch was an end zone target, where Hurts just missed Brown near the back sideline. Brown sees a steady volume of targets on a weekly basis, now getting at least five targets in back-to-back games where Hurts attempted 20 or less passes. He is a high-end WR2 for Week 9 against the Jaguars.

Devonta Smith caught 6-of-7 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 8 win over the Bengals.

Smith had a better outing in Week 8 after catching just one pass in Week 7. He led the Eagles with seven targets, scoring a 45-yard touchdown on a massive Jalen Hurts throw in the third quarter to definitively give the Eagles the lead. The Eagles’ wideout tandem of A.J. Brown and Smith will continue to be Hurts’ passing game funnel until TE Dallas Goedert (hamstring) can return. Smith is a fantasy WR2 for Week 9 against the Jaguars.

Kenneth Gainwell rushed five times for 19 yards in the Eagles’ Week 8 win over the Bengals.

Gainwell saw little usage with Saquon Barkley still the workhorse back. He saw five carries for 19 yards, and his only target on the day was nearly intercepted. Gainwell has little fantasy relevancy as long as Barkley was healthy. The Eagles’ third running back, Will Shipley, rushed two times for -3 yards, though Shipley had a touchdown called back for a holding penalty.

Saquon Barkley rushed 22 times for 108 yards in the Eagles’ Week 8 win over the Bengals, adding one reception for three yards.

Barkley had 23 touches for 111 yards in the Eagles’ win over the Bengals. He had an efficient day, though fantasy managers may not see it pay dividends with no touchdowns and just one reception for PPR leagues. Jalen Hurts stole a pair of rushing scores from Barkley with tush-pushes after Barkley was downed at the one-yard line both times. Hurts’ rushing usage inside the two-yard line continues to cap Barkley’s fantasy ceiling, but Barkley is still an RB1 for Week 9 against the Jaguars.

Jalen Hurts completed 16-of-20 passes for 236 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles’ 37-17, Week 8 win over the Bengals, adding 10 carries for 37 yards and three touchdowns.

Hurts totaled four touchdowns in a blowout victory over the Bengals. The Eagles offense picked it up towards the end of the first half, scoring 27 points in the second half. Hurts was nearly intercepted by Bengals LB Logan Wilson in the second quarter, but made little mistakes afterwards. His passing day was highlighted by slinging a 45-yard touchdown to Devonta Smith. He also added three rushing touchdowns, two coming off tush-pushes at the one-yard line. Hurts helms a good scoring offense with plenty of rushing upside. He is a fantasy QB1 against the Jaguars for Week 9.

Eagles CB Darius Slay left Week 8 against the Bengals with an apparent groin injury.

Slay limped off the field in the third quarter of the Eagles’ Week 8 game against the Bengals, heading into the locker room. The Eagles listed him as questionable to return, though he was subsequently ruled out. Isaiah Rodgers, Cooper DeJean, and Quinyon Mitchell are the corners rotating into the game for the Eagles with the tall task of covering Ja’Marr Chase on the table. Rodgers deflected a Joe Burrow pass to Chase for a Chauncey Gardner-Johnson interception in relief of Slay.

Eagles WR Ainias Smith (ankle) was activated off injured reserve.

Smith was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury in late August after the Eagles’ last preseason game. He was activated off injured reserve this week and will be active for the team’s Week 8 game against the Bengals. The 23-year-old rookie was selected in the fifth round and now gets a chance to make his career debut.

Eagles declared TE Dallas Goedert, OL Mekhi Becton, QB Tanner McKee, G Trevor Keegan, and CB Eli Ricks inactive for Week 8 against the Bengals.

Goedert was ruled out on Friday and is set to miss his second straight game due to a hamstring injury. Grant Calcaterra is next man up in the tight end room. Mekhi Becton (concussion) is also out due to injury while Eli Ricks recovered from a groin injury and is essentially a healthy scratch. Tanner McKee is the emergency third quarterback.

Eagles ruled out Dallas Goedert (hamstring) for Week 8 against the Bengals.

Goedert will miss his second game with the injury after failing to practice all week. It’s possible he is able to return in Week 9 but his total inability to participate this week suggests he is still deep in the rehabilitation process. Mekhi Becton (concussion) was also ruled out.
