Dolphins signed TE Pharaoh Brown, formerly of the Seahawks.
Brown played 263 snaps for the Seahawks last year and was largely ineffective, finishing with five penalties and a 47.8 PFF pass block rating. He managed just eight catches in 12 targets. Well behind Jonnu Smith in the passing game in Miami, Brown will remain mostly a blocker in Miami in 2025 should he make the 53-man roster.
  • SEA Tight End #88
AJ Barner caught 3-of-4 targets for 19 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 12 win over the Cardinals.
With Noah Fant (groin) still out, Barner continued as the team’s primary pass-catching tight end. He saw four targets, primarily in the short-yardage area, finishing with three catches for 19 yards. Pharaoh Brown caught 2-of-2 targets for 19 yards next to Barner as both fill Fant’s pass-catching role. However, neither is fantasy relevant for Week 13 against the Jets.
  • SEA Tight End #87
Noah Fant caught 3-of-3 targets for 24 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 5 loss to the Giants.
Though Fant is the Seahawks’ top tight end, his role is a small one. Between Fant, AJ Barner, and Pharaoh Brown, the tight end room saw a 12.5% target share on the day with the wideouts and running backs consistently the top receiving options. Barner caught his only target for 13 yards, while Brown caught his for seven yards. Fant’s low volume role means he is a deep-league tight end option for Week 6 against the 49ers.
  • SEA Tight End #87
Seahawks TE Noah Fant (toe) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
By this point, Fant starting out the week limited due to his toe injury is becoming a trend. Don’t be surprised if you see him limited again next week, barring any setbacks he should still play Week 3. Pharaoh Brown (foot) was also limited, while special teamer Brady Russell (shoulder) missed practice. The Seahawks’ tight end room has been a bit underwhelming this season, with Fant being the best option as a back-end TE2.
  • SEA Tight End #87
Seahawks TE Noah Fant (toe) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Fant dealt with the toe injury throughout preseason, but was removed from the injury report heading into Week 1. It seems he is still limited due to the injury and practices later in the week will tell how healthy Fant is for Week 2. Fellow tight end Pharaoh Brown (foot) was also limited, leaving the Seahawks’ tight end room a little shallow to begin the week.
  • SEA Linebacker #10
Seahawks declared LB Uchenna Nwosu, C Jalen Sundell, G Sataoa Laumea, T Michael Jerrell, TE Pharoah Brown, DE Myles Adams and CB Artie Burns inactive for Week 1 against the Broncos.
Nwosu is expected to miss multiple weeks with his MCL Sprain. Brown is also unavailable for Sunday’s opener due to a foot injury, but has a chance to return for Week 2 against the Patriots.
  • SEA Tight End #87
Seahawks TE Noah Fant (toe) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
The report clarifies which area of the body Fant injured on August 6th and his limited participation bodes positively for his Week 1 availability. The Seahawks’ tight end room thinned considerably this offseason, lessening Fant’s positional target competition and No. 2 TE Pharaoh Brown (foot) was notably unable to practice on Wednesday. Tight ends notoriously take a few seasons to develop and Fant was a highly touted prospect in the 2019 NFL draft. If his toe holds up, Fant has the potential to produce a top-12 season.

Seahawks agreed to terms with TE Pharaoh Brown, formerly of the Patriots, on a one-year, $3.2 million contract.
The deal is worth “up to” $3.9 million. The Seahawks’ tight end depth had been wiped out following the release of Will Dissly and the departure of Colby Parkinson. That has led to a good deal of early-March Noah Fant hype, which Brown should not affect. The 30-year-old (in May) has 64 career grabs. He is coming to Seattle to block and do the “little things.”
  • NE Tight End #85
Patriots TE Hunter Henry (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.
Henry has thrived with Bailey Zappe under center, catching 10-of-12 targets for 106 yards and three touchdowns in the last two weeks. However, he was injured last week when Chiefs’ cornerback L’Jarius Sneed went low on a hit and took out his legs. Henry’s foot appeared to have been somewhat caught in the turf as his knee buckled awkwardly on the play. With the Patriots having nothing left to play for, it’s unclear if they would rush him back. While Mike Gesicki would seem to be a popular waiver add if Henry misses, Pharaoh Brown has actually been running more routes and could be a sneaky deep league add for TE-desperate managers.
  • NE Tight End #86
Patriots TE Pharaoh Brown (back) did not practice on Wednesday.
Brown has had a few weeks with meaningful production, but he’s simply a role player on the Patriots. However, if he were to miss Sunday’s game, that would mean more snaps and routes for Hunter Henry. With Kendrick Bourne and DeVante Parker also both out for Sunday’s game, any pass catcher in New England could see an uptick in targets.
